Garden Vets & KVR Care Model Statement

1. Our Approach to Veterinary Care

Garden Vets provides veterinary services through a structured care model designed to support both ongoing patient care and access to specialist and referral services.

In addition, we provide advanced and specialist referral care services under the brand Keele Veterinary Referrals, located in a specifically designated and equipped area of the hospital.

We operate as a clinical veterinary practice and accredited teaching facility in partnership with Harper and Keele Veterinary School. Clinical teaching is an integrated part of the services we provide and contributes to the development of future veterinary professionals.

Our services are delivered in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and are designed to support high quality clinical outcomes for all patients.

2. Two Distinct Service Models

Garden Vets operates two clearly defined service models

(a) Subscription Services which provide continuous managed veterinary care through PetCare Plans
(b) Pay-As-You-Go Services which provide ad hoc episodic veterinary services

These service models are separate and are governed by different contractual terms.

3. Subscription Services

Subscription Services are designed for clients who wish to receive ongoing structured veterinary care.

These services typically include

  • preventative healthcare planning

  • continuity of care

  • structured clinical oversight

  • scheduled and proactive engagement

Subscription Services are delivered under a defined contractual framework and are intended to support long term health management and predictable care delivery.

4. Pay-As-You-Go Services

Pay-As-You-Go Services are designed for clients who require access to veterinary care on a case by case basis.

These services typically include

  • one off consultations

  • diagnostics or procedures

  • referred cases from other veterinary practices

PAYG Services are episodic in nature and do not include ongoing care management or preventative scheduling unless separately agreed.

5. Choosing the Appropriate Service

The appropriate service model will depend on your needs and the level of care required for your pet.

Subscription Services are generally appropriate where ongoing preventative and managed care is required.

PAYG Services are generally appropriate where access to veterinary care is required on an ad hoc or referral basis.

Garden Vets may provide guidance on the most appropriate service model but the choice of service remains with you.

6. Relationship Between Service Models

The two service models operate independently.

Access to services, availability of appointments and scope of care may differ between models.

Where a client receives services under both models each service will be governed by its respective contractual terms.

7. Clinical Responsibility

Regardless of the service model selected

  • all care is delivered under the supervision of qualified registered veterinary surgeons

  • clinical decisions are made in the best interests of the patient

  • professional and regulatory standards apply at all times

8. Teaching and Clinical Environment

As a clinical teaching practice, students and professional learners may be involved in aspects of patient care under appropriate supervision.

This forms part of the normal delivery of services and does not affect the standard of care provided.

9. Contractual Terms

All services are subject to formal Terms and Conditions.

  • PAYG Services are governed by the PAYG General Terms and Conditions

  • Subscription Services are governed by the relevant PetCare Plan Terms

Clients should review the applicable Terms before engaging services.
